Generation of renewable fuels from Macaúba cultivation. Thisis the purpose of Acelen Renováveis, a global renewable energy company, which has invested US$2.5 billion to plant 200,000 hectares of Macaúba in Bahia and Minas Gerais (both states in Brazil), using only degraded land. To run this project, the company will count on INFLOR to support the management of its forest assets, using the INFLOR Forest solution to manage the operations, from planting to harvesting.

Acelen Renewables is an energy company created by the Mubadala Capital fund, an active and innovative investor present in more than 50 countries, in the most diverse sectors. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, it was created to actively participate in the global energy transition. The company is now investing in Macaúba plantations: a native Brazilian plant that will be the raw material used in the annual production of more than 1 billion liters of renewable fuels. And INFLOR was chosen to join Acelen in this innovative project
“Our challenge is to develop an innovative culture, which has not yet been domesticated in Brazil, which is very important for the decarbonization process of the transport means. We are very excited about this partnership, which has complete synergy with our mission to make the world greener.”
-Geovany Spalenza
Sales Director from INFLOR
The alliance between Acelen Renewables and INFLOR aims to build a pioneering operating solution for Macaúba plantations, to provide better management practices for forestry crops in the long term. The partnership will involve the administration of all production factors, including elements of the investment life cycle such as:
To perform the process in an organized and effective way, each life cycle factor will have a specific module, which will be implemented in stages called “waves”. This is a project that aims to integrate all the knowledge generated by research, innovations, agronomic developments, and the results obtained throughout the investments already made in Macaúba.
“We can only do something so bold with excellence in forest management when we combine technology with a cutting-edge team. In the course of actions, through experienced processes and reliable systems, we will be able to optimize resources, maximize returns, and guarantee the sustainability of the project.”
– Luiz Fellipe Arcalá
Agricultural Strategy Manager at Acelen Renewables
Macaúba is a native Brazilian palm tree, whose cultivation is perennial, high yielding (produces up to 7 times more oil than soybeans), and low input consumption, according to the definition of the Brazilian Agricultural Research (Embrapa). It can be grown in degraded areas and as part of cropping systems to drive land restoration and support biodiversity.
INFLOR Forest, the solution that will be used in this project, offers complete and exclusive technology for managing the entire forestry chain. The tool features interfaces that adapt to your company’s processes and can be accessed from anywhere with internet access. Its benefits are:
INFLOR Forest – with its diverse modules – works to monitor and preserve forests, from the seedlings, with high-tech nurseries, to the harvest, contributing to a greener world.
